About Hawfields Civitan and Hawfields Junior Civitan
Your help and patronage at the Hawfields Haunted Forest will help us provide services and support to a variety of people and worthy causes.
One of our primary objectives is our Youth Sports Program. We maintain a safe, community-friendly ballpark and sponsor numerous youth baseball, softball, soccer, and football teams/leagues right here in Hawfields / Mebane, NC. This past season one of our Girls FastPtich Teams even brought home a State Title! In addition to our sports programs, we provide financial support and leadership to the Hawfields Junior Civitan and Hawfields Middle School Junior Civitan Clubs so they can continue to enhance the character of tomorrow's civic leaders.
But guess what, that's not all. We also hold monthly Special Friends Dances for the local disabled community and their families, we annually provide significant support to the Boy's & Girl's Home of North Carolina, we do various activities with the senior citizens at the Hawfields Presbyterian Home, and we send funds to the Civitan International Research Center in Birmingham, AL. And then there is the Christmas Cheer gifts for needy families, Special Olympics, and so on ............
We also bet you didn't know that your Hawfields Civitan and Junior Civitan Clubs are two of the most decorated Civitan Clubs in the world. It's true!. Civitan International is a multi-national organization and your local Civitan Clubs are regular award recipients at both the state and international level. Of course recognition is nice. But making a difference in people lives, with both big and small gestures, is what we're all about. Ask any of the volunteers for information or a flier on Civitan. We would love to have you join us and help make a difference in our community.
The Hawfields Civitan club meets the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month at 7pm in the Covington Shelter of the Hawfields Community Park (entrance building to the Haunted Forest). Your quarterly dues of $33 per person or $63 per couple includes monthly meals. There is also a small initiation fee of $16.25.
